The Graduate School of Journalism offers three degree programs: Master of Science in journalism (full and part-time), Master of Arts in journalism (full-time only), and Ph.D. in Communications.

Required Application Materials
Each degree program has specific application requirements. Please read the requirements carefully. You may also find detailed instructions on the online application.
For the M.S., M.A. and Ph.D. program, the following supporting materials must be uploaded to our online application: personal essays, letters of recommendation, resume, writing clips or samples. Any hard copies of items mentioned above will not be accepted.
You must submit an official transcript from each of the undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended. Have official transcripts mailed to:

Please remember that all materials, once submitted as part of your application, become property of the school. Materials will not be returned, and copies will not be provided to applicants or other people for any reason at any time.
Application Reactivation
We keep all applications on file for one year. Applicants may reactivate their applications one time, only for the class immediately following the original application.
To reactivate your application, you must submit a new online application. Please indicate you are a re-applicant in Essay A. In addition, you will need to submit a current resume, new essays and letters of recommendations. M.S. students must retake the writing test. You do not need to resubmit your transcripts or TOEFL/IELTS scores unless they are over two years old.
Scholarship Aid
All applicants, both domestic and international, who wish to be considered for scholarship assistance, must submit The Graduate School of Journalism Scholarship Aid Application in addition to the online Application for Admission. The Scholarship Aid Application will be available December 1, 2009 and will be due February 2010. The online Application for Admission is now available.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents must also submit the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available January 2010 and can be found at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The school code for the Graduate School of Journalism, which is required to complete the form, is E00122.
