Sara Barrett is a photo editor at The New York Times. Prior to that, she worked as a freelance photographer and photo editor in New York City. Her pictures have appeared in Vanity Fair, Vogue, The New Yorker, and The New York Times, among others, and her clients have included the News Corporation, Random House, Alfred A. Knopf, and the Museum of Modern Art. She spent four years as the photo editor at Metropolis, a magazine of architecture and design, and at various times has been a photo editor at Conde Nast and the Hearst Corporation. A self-taught photographer, she earned a B.A. in English from Connecticut College and an M.S. from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University.
