Al was the executive news editor for the CBS broadcast magazine 48 Hours. He was director of operations for the CBS News Investigative Unit; a senior producer for The CBS Evening News; the creator and executive producer of Verdict; and a producer for Channel 2 News at Six. He has won numerous Emmy Awards, the Peabody Award, and the Overseas Press Club Award. He received his B.A. at St. Joseph's Seminary and an M.S. degree at Columbia Journalism School.
