Russell is a multimedia developer and consultant specializing in visualizing science, data, and story ideas for the web. For nearly ten years, he worked for Benjamin Cummings Publishers, a division of Pearson Education in San Francisco, where he was a multimedia artist, a media development editor, and then senior art and media producer, creating instructional media for science curriculums. He is the author of eight books on Flash: Macromedia Flash 5 Visual Quick Pro Guide; Macromedia Flash MX Quick Pro Guide; Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Quick Pro Guide; Macromedia Flash 8 Quick Pro Guide; Adobe Flash CS3 Quick Pro Guide, Adobe Flash CS4 Quick Pro Guide, Adobe Flash CS3 Classroom-in-a-book, and the e-book, Storytelling with Adobe Flash CS3. He was a lecturer at UC Berkeley School of Journalism, and an instructor at the College of San Mateo. Russell received a B.S. in biology from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Medical and Biological Illustration from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. |
