Russell is an art and multimedia developer. For almost ten years, he worked for Benjamin Cummings Publishers, a division of Pearson Education in San Francisco, where he was a multimedia artist, a media development editor, and then a senior art and media producer, creating media programs for biology and chemistry curriculums. He is the author of four media program guides to Flash applications - Visual QuickPro Guides: Macromedia Flash 5; Macromedia Flash 8 Advanced for Windows and Macintosh; Macromedia Flash MX Advanced for Windows and Macintosh; Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Advanced for Windows and Macintosh; and most recently Flash CS3 Professional Advanced for Windows and Macintosh. He was a lecturer at UC Berkeley, and an instructor at the College of San Mateo. Russell received a B.S. in biology from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Medical and Biological Illustration from Johns Hopkins.
