Tom is associate editor of The Star-Ledger in Newark, N.J., a position he has held since July, 2004. Previously, he was assistant managing editor for investigations at The Ledger, New Jersey's largest newspaper. He joined The Star-Ledger after the demise of New York Newsday in July, 1995, where he worked variously as Queens editor, New York political editor and New York investigations editor. Before joining Newsday in 1983, Curran worked at the New York Daily News and was editor of The Trenton Times for a year. He started in the newspaper business at the late Hudson Dispatch in Union City, N.J. He has a B.A. in French from Fordham. He first taught as an adjunct at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism in 1979. He is currently an RW1 adjunct.
