Professor Haberl has worked as a reporter for WJXT-TV, Jacksonville, Fla. and WCAU-TV, Philadelphia; broadcast producer for ABC News This Week with David Brinkley; Rome-based producer for ABC News; senior overseas producer for ABC News Nightline; and producer for ABC World News Tonight;

His awards include: Alfred I. duPont Silver Baton (1990), the Peabody (1986,1999, 2001), and the Emmy (1989, 1990, 1997, 1999, 2001 and two in 2006). He earned his B.S. at Georgetown and his M.S. at Columbia.
