Professor Kent has worked extensively for The Associated Press in the following positions: newsman in Hartford (Conn.), New York, Sydney (Australia) and Moscow; NATO and European Community correspondent, Brussels; chief of operations in Tehran; chief of bureau, Moscow; deputy World Service editor; World Service editor; international editor; and deputy managing editor;

Kent has served as an adjunct professor at the Harriman Institute, SIPA and as a juror for the Pulitzer Prizes. He received his B.A. from Yale.
