John Martin

John Martin is a retired ABC News national correspondent who teaches national affairs reporting. His career in journalism spans more than 40 years and includes newspaper work as a reporter, photo editor, and copy editor at The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Augusta(Georgia)Chronicle, and The New York Times (Paris). In television, he reported for KCRA-TV News in Sacramento, California, and ABC News in New York and Washington, where he appeared on This Week with David Brinkley, Nightline, and World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. His stories won the George Polk, Emmy, National Headliner, and National Association of Black Journalists awards.
