Jack Schwartz has worked at The New York Times as copy chief of the Magazine, metropolitan editor at The Week in Review, assistant Culture editor, assistant editor on the Weekend and Arts & Leisure Sections and copy editor on the Metropolitan Desk; at Newsday as Book Editor, Day News Editor, Specialists Editor, reporter and columnist; at The New York Daily News as Book Editor; at the Paris Herald-Tribune on the news and copy desks. He has also worked as a reporter for the Long Island Press after starting out at The New York Daily Mirror and The New York Post. He has taught weekly-review writing at the Columbia Journalism School as well as copy editing at New York University Journalism School. He received a Nieman Fellowship from Harvard University, an International Affairs Fellowship from Columbia University and earned a B.A. from City College.
