Stefan Knerrich began his career as a print reporter before switching to television, working as a reporter, editor and cameraman for CNN. Since 2001, Knerrich has been focusing on documentary film, earning editor, director and producer credits on various productions, primarily for PBS, HBO and theatrical releases. He has been awarded best documentary honors at several film festivals in the U.S. and abroad as well as a CINE Golden Eagle, the ADL Dore Schary Award, and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Bricker Award, among others. He is also a consultant with the Anti-Defamation League.

Knerrich served as a translator, researcher and copy editor for David Margolick’s critically acclaimed book Beyond Glory (Alfred A. Knopf, 2005).

He received a master’s degree from the Journalism School, where he has been a member of the adjunct faculty since 2002, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the Freie Universitaet, Berlin.
