Claudia Roth Pierpont is a staff writer at The New Yorker, where she has published two dozen stories and profiles. She’s also the author of “Passionate Minds: Women Rewriting the World,” which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in criticism. In 1999 she won a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and in 2000-01 she was a Fellow at the New York Public Libraries prestigious Center for Scholars and Writers. She earned her B.A. at Barnard College and the Ph.D at NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts. Before joining our faculty, she taught at Tisch and Barnard, emphasizing creative non-fiction and the arts.
