| Tom Herman is a Senior Special Writer at The Wall Street Journal in New York. He joined the staff directly after graduating from college in 1968 and has been based in several Journal bureaus, including New York, Atlanta, Hong Kong and Singapore.
He covered the credit markets for about a decade and started the Journal’s semi-annual interest rate and economic outlook survey in 1981. Since mid-1993, he has written a weekly column on taxes. He also writes a weekly column for The Wall Street Journal Sunday, a personal-finance section that appears in more than 60 newspapers each week around the nation. He taught a seminar at Yale in the fall of 2006 and 2007 on business- and financial-news coverage. He is also the Journal's resident tennis fanatic. |
