Dave Kansas is editor at large for FiLife, a personal finance Internet business run jointly by Dow Jones and IAC Corp. He previously spent four years as editor of The Wall Street Journal's Money & Investing section, overseeing coverage of Wall Street, banking, hedge and mutual funds, private equity, investing, accounting and insurance. He also worked in several other roles at the Journal, including as a reporter and as deputy managing editor of The Wall Street Journal Online. Kansas was editor in chief of TheStreet.com from 1996 to 2001 and served on the company's board of directors. He has also worked as a sports reporter at New York Newsday and a reporter and producer at NBC Radio Network News.

Kansas has written two books and has a third coming out in February 2009 about the financial crisis. Born in St. Paul, Minn., Mr. Kansas attended Macalester College in St. Paul and received a bachelor's degree in history from Columbia University in New York. He lives in New York City.
