Mary Catherine is an associate producer at CBS' religion unit and BetterThanFiction Productions. She worked for The IFC Media Project, a documentary-style series for the Independent Film Channel. In 2007, she produced multimedia religion stories as a fellow for the Carnegie and Knight Foundations’ News 21 fellowship. She also co-produced a documentary about undocumented Irish immigrants called Exodus of the Irish. Mary Catherine has worked as a freelance journalist for the past five years, having written for publications including the Boston Pilot, Irish America Magazine, and the Irish Emigrant. She also hosted and co-produced the BNN Cable TV network program, Ireland on the Move. She was an arts editor at The Harvard Crimson. Mary Catherine graduated from Harvard, where she studied Irish and African American literature, in 2006. She received her M.S. from Columbia Journalism School, where she concentrated in broadcast journalism, in 2007. As the youngest of five children born to an Irish immigrant, Mary Catherine grew up playing music with her siblings in a band called The Spirits of Gilbride. |
