The Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Business and Economics Journalism has helped mid-career journalists hone their reporting in the field for over thirty years. The evening featured a keynote speech entitled “Press Freedom and Responsibility” by Peter Kann, (photo right) Chairman of Dow Jones & Co., Inc. The “Best of Knight-Bagehot” award was presented to alumnus, Anne Tergesen (’97), for her coverage of hedge funds in BusinessWeek. ![]() Lionel Barber, editor of The Financial Times, delivered the keynote address at a fundraising dinner celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism on November 10, 2005. In his remarks, Barber discussed how the digital revolution is fundamentally changing the way in which we consume news and information. The "Best of Knight-Bagehot" award for journalistic excellence was presented to Knight-Bagehot alumnus, Peter Gosselin (’84), for his series called “The New Deal,” which appeared in The Los Angeles Times. ![]() Robert E. Rubin, the 70th Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, delivered the keynote address at a fundraising dinner celebrating the 29th anniversary of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism. In his remarks, Rubin warned against the dangers of increased federal deficits. The "Best of Knight-Bagehot" award for journalistic excellence was presented to Knight-Bagehot alumnus, Sara Silver ('00), for her coverage of Mexico's First Lady, Marta Fox, which appeared in The Financial Times.
