DescriptionNPR Kroc Fellows work alongside some of the nation's most respected reporters, producers, and editors. The prgram ensures the Fellows develop:
* Production and editorial skills by working on NPR's award-winning newsmagazines such as All Things Considered© or Morning Edition©
* Reporting and on-air experience while working under the guidance of NPR editors
* Multimedia, writing and production skills by working with npr.org producers and editors
* First-hand broadcast journalism experience at an NPR member station

NPR will provide Kroc Fellows with professional guidance and assist in job placement toward the close of the one-year fellowship.

Key Features:
* Three Kroc Fellowships are offered each year
* Fellowships begin in August and last one year
* Fellows are awarded a stipend of more than $40,000, plus benefits (including paid vacation)
* Kroc Fellows will work primarily at NPR headquarters in Washington, DC, but will also spend time working at an NPR member station.

Eligibility Requirements:
*Candidates must be in their last year of community or four-year college, graduate school, or out of school for one year or less as of December 31.
* Prior experience in radio or journalism is not necessary - but candidates must demonstrate exceptional potential and drive.

Applicants must submit a resume, three references (at least two from academic or professional contacts), transcripts, a cover letter and a work of some sort reflecting remarkable initiative or accomplishment (this might include a writing sample (1,000 words or less), video production excerpt, musical composition excerpt, etc.
