DescriptionFour post-graduate fellows will be selected to work for nine months in one of Media General’s cross-owned markets. The fellows will divide their time between the newspaper, the television station and the Web site. They will primarily produce content to be presented across all platforms.

Fellows will be assigned to the following markets in 2009:
• Bristol, Va. - Johnson City, Tenn.
• Florence - Myrtle Beach, S.C.: The (Florence) Morning News, WBTW-TV and affiliated Web sites.
• Lynchburg - Roanoke, Va.: The (Lynchburg) News & Advance, WSLS-TV and affiliated Web sites.
• Opelika/Auburn, Ala. - Columbus, Ga.: Opelika-Auburn News, WRBL-TV and affiliated Web sites.

Fellowships are open to applicants who completed their bachelor’s or master’s degree within 12 months before the start of the fellowship. Must be U.S. citizens and have a valid driver’s license. Priority will be given to applicants who have demonstrated experience and ability in at least one media platform and interest in a career in multimedia journalism.

Complete the application form and return it with resume, cover letter and six to 10 newspaper clips or other writing samples. Tapes, CDs or links to Web sites on which the applicant has worked may also be submitted, but writing samples are required.

Fellows will be paid at a rate approximately equal to that of entry-level reporters in the markets to which they are assigned and are eligible to receive $1,000 toward housing and relocation costs.
