Founded in 1978 by Maria Sidney Rolfe and Amelia Augustus, Ed.D., WERT aims to educate the public and inform policy makers about national and global economics, business, and finance. WERT, partnered with the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship Program in Economics and Business Journalism at the Journalism School, has presented 180 programs with nearly 500 speakers since its inception. Panelists at this month’s event include Robert A. Mundell, the 1999 Nobel Laureate in Economics and a Columbia University professor; Joseph E. Stiglitz, the 2001 Nobel Laureate in Economics and a Columbia University professor; Paul A. Volcker, former chairman of the Federal Reserve System; Heidi Hartman, president of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research; and Marina v.N. Whitman, an author and University of Michigan professor. Teresa Tritch, a Knight-Bagehot alumnae on the board of editors at The New York Times, will moderate the discussion. Read more about WERT's 30th anniversary program |
