Career Expo 2009 Invite -- For Recruiters |
|
Career Fair 2008 Dear News Media Recruiters: The annual spring Career Expo at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism was Saturday, March 28, 2009. There were 100+ media companies, large and small, who sent representatives to meet more than 300 graduating students at The Journalism School from across the country and abroad with a wide range of journalism experience. The Career Expo is one of the largest journalism job fairs in the country. It is restricted to print, broadcasting or online media companies that engage primarily in news gathering. See the list of 2009 Recruiters who have registered. The Career Expo takes place in Roone Arledge Auditorium at Lerner Hall, adjacent to the Journalism School, allowing a far more spacious setting for recruiters to meet students and conduct one-on-one interviews throughout the day. Among the job candidates at the expo are students in our one-year Master of Science in Journalism program, the one-year Master of Arts in Journalism Program, and the Knight-Bagehot Fellows of 2009. The M.S. students specialize in print, broadcast or online media, all of whom learn basic multimedia storytelling technique and skills such as photo, blogging, video, audio, interactive graphics, Podcasting, slideshows and more. Our M.A. students are accomplished journalists who use their year at Columbia to deepen their knowledge in one of several specialty areas: business, politics, science/health or arts and culture reporting. Our Knight-Bagehot fellows are some of the best business journalists in the world who come to Columbia to study business and business law at Columbia Business School.
