Annual Dinners

The Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Business and Economics Journalism has helped mid-career journalists hone their reporting in the field for over thirty years. Its continued success is possible in part because of the generous support of donors. As a part of its fundraising efforts, the program hosts an annual gala dinner featuring a keynote speech from a leader in the business world. Transcripts of previous speeches from Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., Robert Rubin, and others available below.

Greg Farrell ’97 is the winner of the 2011 Christopher J. Welles Prize for his book “Crash of the Titans,” which tells the story of the decline and fall of Merrill Lynch and its troubled sale to Bank of America. The Welles Prize is awarded each year to a former Knight-Bagehot Fellow whose work most epitomizes Chris’s ideals of thorough reporting, good storytelling and timeliness. Greg, who is currently a reporter for Bloomberg News, received a $500 cash prize at the 36th anniversary dinner celebration on November 7.
