Kluge Challenge for Endowed Scholarship Aid
Multiply Your Gift's Impact for Scholarships
The Kluge Centennial Challenge supports the Columbia Journalism School’s most urgent fundraising priority: increasing scholarship funds to attract and support the brightest students, regardless of their financial means.
This partnership between the late John Kluge '37 CC, alumni, and friends gives us the chance to create, for the first time in our school's 100 year history, a permanent, endowed pool of full-need financial aid that will give all our accepted students a chance to study here, and to leave without a burden of debt that would constrain their career options. Our goal is to be able to offer scholarship packages that cover at least 50% of tuition costs for Journalism students who qualify for such support.
How the Match Works
Gifts of $100,000 or more to a new or existing endowed scholarship fund will be matched at the following level:
- Gifts of $100,000 - $499,999 will be matched 1:1
- Gifts of $500,000 - $999,999 or more will be matched 1.5:1
- Gifts of $1 million or more (up to $5 million) will be matched 2:1
To qualify for this match, donors must make their gift or pledge by June 30, 2013, the culmination of the Journalism School’s Centennial Celebration.
