Friday Admissions Informal Information Meetings

Informal information meetings are held on Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m at the Columbia Journalism School. The meetings are conducted in a small group setting and cover an overview of the school and programs. We strongly urge you to RSVP for these sessions.

Saturday Admissions Information Sessions

Come and learn about our master's, Ph.D. and computer science-journalism programs and hear from faculty and students.

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid also holds Blog Talk Radio and YouTube sessions for prospective students to learn more about the school, programs and admissions requirements.

J-School in Your Area

During the year, you can meet with a member of the admissions staff when we recruit around the country at one of the graduate school and job fairs, or professional association conventions. To find out where we will be, please click here.

Alumni-Admission Meet and Greets

The Columbia Journalism School cordially invites you to come and meet admission staff and alumni in your area. Learn about our programs, admission, and a career in journalism in a casual setting. We strongly encourage you to RSVP for these sessions. A schedule will be announced soon.

Individual Informational Interviews

If you have questions about the program, the admissions process or deadlines, please attend one of our Friday information sessions. If you are not able to attend one of our sessions, you may contact the admissions office to set up an appointment. An informational interview is an opportunity for you to meet with us one-on-one to go over your questions and concerns. These are generally 15 to 20 minutes in length. Please note: these interviews are not required and hold no weight in the application process.
